To fully deepen the revision of undergraduate professional talent training programs and enhance the quality of talent cultivation, on May 6th, the Department of Microelectronics at the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering held an online discussion meeting for the revision of the Microelectronic Science and Engineering (2024 Edition) Professional Talent Training Program. The meeting invited Chief Scientist Wei Yiyi, a national-level talent from the EDA Center of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to provide guidance. Participants included Dean Chen Yuanping, Vice Dean Xu Jing, Discipline Leader for the Integrated Circuit Direction Cao Dawei, Secretary of the Department of Microelectronics Liu Yuan, and Deputy Head of the Department Chen Mingming. The meeting was chaired by Dean Chen Yuanping.

Dean Chen Yuanping began by highlighting the high level of importance placed by the school and the college on the revision of the new version of the training program. He emphasized that the training program is a critical basis for organizing undergraduate education and teaching activities and serves as the overall design for achieving the goals and essential requirements of talent cultivation. He called for using the revision of the training program as an opportunity to optimize course settings and systems, accelerate professional development, and deliver outstanding talents to the Party and the country, thus laying a solid foundation for building a distinctive and top-notch university.

Vice Dean Xu Jing introduced the background, requirements, current status, and progress of the revision work for the training program. She stressed the importance of external expert opinions, noting that widely soliciting the industry's views and suggestions on the 2024 version of the training program would help further optimize the program and enhance the quality of professional teaching.

Researcher Wei Yiyi pointed out that under the backdrop of comprehensive reform in undergraduate education, each major should engage in accreditation work centered on student needs, outcomes-based, and continuously improving. This involves completing new tasks aimed at enriching the connotations of the major, focusing on the cultivation of students' professional abilities. He emphasized the need to highlight three goals and three supports as the main thread, with three achievements as the baseline in the accreditation logic. Teachers responsible for professional courses should be involved in and familiar with the formulation of professional training objectives, well-versed in graduation requirements, understand the curriculum structure and settings, and grasp the relationship between course objectives and graduation requirements. He hoped that the college would adopt a reverse design and forward construction approach in student training, setting up a correlation matrix between the course system and graduation requirements based on the principles of course goal setting, to promote the construction and implementation of the talent training system.

Finally, Dean Chen Yuanping stated that the experts' opinions provided crucial guidance for the revision of the training program. He required the Department of Microelectronics to combine the actual conditions of the college to develop a high-quality applied talent training program, creating a more scientific and rational talent training model to contribute to the cultivation of highly qualified microelectronics professionals.
